flicpix privacy

Last updated: June 2026

We keep it simple: your photos never leave your device, we collect only a small amount of data to run and improve the App, we do not show ads or track you across other apps, and we will never sell your data. This policy explains the full details.

Who we are

FlicPix (we, us, our) is the provider of the FlicPix mobile application and website at flicpix.app (together, the Services). We are the data controller responsible for your personal data.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, you can contact us at support@flicpix.app.

About this policy

This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our Services, and tells you about your privacy rights under UK and applicable data protection law.

Our Services are not intended for children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect data relating to children.

Your photos stay on your device

FlicPix processes your photos entirely on your device. We do not upload, store, or transmit your photos or camera roll content to our servers. Your media is 100% private to you.

We do not have access to your photos. They never leave your iPhone.

Data we collect

Personal data means any information from which you can be identified. We collect only the following limited categories:

  • Identifiers — a stable pseudonymous app user identifier and device/app-instance identifiers that we use for analytics, diagnostics, and to keep your subscription status in sync. These are linked to your usage and diagnostic data, but are not linked to your real-name identity unless you contact us.
  • Purchase data — your subscription and purchase status and history, processed through Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat). We do not receive or store your payment card details — payment is handled securely by Apple.
  • Usage data — information about how you interact with the App, such as features used, session length, and streak activity, associated with the pseudonymous identifier above.
  • Technical data — device type, operating system version, app version, and crash reports to help us fix bugs and improve performance.
  • Identity and communications data — if you contact us for support, we collect your email address and a record of that correspondence.

We do not collect precise location data, health data, or biometric data.

How we collect your data

We collect data in the following ways:

  • Directly from you — when you contact support or interact with the App.
  • Automatically — through crash reporting and usage analytics collected by the App as you use it.
  • Through third-party services — analytics, diagnostics, and subscription tools (listed below) collect data under a stable pseudonymous identifier, not your real-name identity. They do not use this data for advertising.

Third-party services we use

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the App. They process limited data on our behalf under data processing agreements and have their own privacy policies:

How we use your data

We only use your data when we have a lawful basis to do so. We use it to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App and our Services.
  • Process and manage your subscriptions and purchases, and keep your Pro status in sync.
  • Respond to your support requests and communications.
  • Monitor and fix technical issues, crashes, and bugs.
  • Comply with our legal obligations.
  • Protect the security and integrity of our Services.

We will never use your data for advertising purposes or sell it to third parties.

Tracking and advertising

FlicPix does not track you. We do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), we do not display ads, and we do not link your data with data from other companies' apps or websites for advertising or measurement. We do not share your data with data brokers.

Because we do not track you in the sense defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, the App does not ask you for tracking permission.

Legal basis for processing

Under UK data protection law, we rely on the following lawful bases:

  • Contract — processing necessary to provide you with the Services you have requested, including managing your subscription.
  • Legitimate interests — improving the App, preventing fraud, and ensuring security, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation — where we are required to process data to comply with the law.
  • Consent — where we have asked for and you have provided your consent (e.g. marketing communications). You may withdraw consent at any time.

Sharing your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share it only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — the trusted third-party companies listed above that help us operate the App, bound by data processing agreements.
  • Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
  • Business transfer — if FlicPix is acquired or merges with another organisation, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Data retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. If you ask us to delete your data, we will delete or anonymise it within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.

Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International transfers

Some of the service providers we use (including Apple, Google/Firebase, RevenueCat, and Superwall) are based in the United States, so your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the UK and European Economic Area (EEA). Where we make such transfers, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) in accordance with applicable data protection law.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — request that we delete your personal data in certain circumstances.
  • Restriction — ask us to restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to us processing your data where we rely on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@flicpix.app. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Cookies

Our website may use essential cookies to ensure it functions correctly. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Third-party links

The App or website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notifying you via the App. Continued use of our Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
